Maritime Education & Training Ltd (METL) is an independent provider of maritime education offering evening classes in central London for students preparing for the May exams of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS).
METL was created on the eve of the academic year in September 2002, when a university unexpectedly withdrew from providing evening classes in shipping. Determined to support the students, Jeffrey Blum founded METL with some of the university's established lecturers.
Our modern lecture theatre is in Guy’s Campus of King’s College, located in a fashionable and vibrant area, conveniently situated close to London Bridge Station (Northern and Jubilee Lines).
As one of the earliest members of Maritime London, METL continues to support maritime services in the capital.
Our students come from all areas of activity within shipping, as well as from outside the industry who are looking for a change of career. All will benefit from our courses, whether building on existing knowledge and experience or new to shipping.
METL has evolved into a world recognised provider of maritime education and all our lecturers have extensive and varied careers in this industry.
